Sure, KFC is good and all but where is the best fried chicken in Lansing?

I'm not going to lie, I'm not a huge fried chicken person...I know, how can I call myself a true American?

Just eating chicken on the bone in general is not my favorite, however I do love me some KFC, though it is surprising that according to a report from TOP Agency, fried chicken was the number one choice among all 50 states for fast food during the pandemic.

TOP Agency's data revealed this when they discovered fried chicken establishments fared better over the course of 2020 while others in the industry struggled.

The fast food industry as a whole, according to the data, was down by 23% though while foods like pizza were down 21% on their own, the fried chicken industry was only down by six percent!

Just speculating here, but do we think the decrease in fast food sales has something to do with the push to support more local restaurants instead of major chains? Also, I'm still just really hung up on how it's fried chicken, of all things, that made out the best?

I mean, maybe it's just me and the fact that I have probably eaten my weight in Taco Bell and Qdoba since the events of 2020 unfolded but TOP Agency reports Michigan's top four fried chicken joints were:

  1. Church's Chicken
  2. KFC
  3. Popeye's
  4. Chick-fil-A

All in all, 14 states were all in agreement that KFC was their go-to chicken joint during the ongoing pandemic and that's pretty impressive when places like Chick-fil-A exist...

While this report marks great success for the fried chicken fast food industry, the franchise owners, etc...it still makes me venture out and try some more home-made, home-grown, hometown chicken restaurants!
