Harvests from Michigan’s Spring Turkey Season
The spring turkey season started yesterday here in Michigan and runs through May 31, 2018. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has all the details here on the rules, tactics and more.
Above, you can see Anna H with the turkey she harvested yesterday morning at 7:25. This guy tipped the scales at 21 pounds, with a 8 3/4" beard and 3/4 inch spurs.
My brother Mark, who lives in Midland, got this guy yesterday, who was 18 pounds with a 9 inch beard.
Gotta give the prize to Anna for this one - we'll get her a WMMQ shirt for her efforts and for sending it in.
If you didn't get your license yet, you may still have an opportunity to do so. The DNR has info here on how you might purchase a leftover license. And of course, you can always get in on the Fall Hunt.
