If you've got any last minute items you need to pick up at the grocery store for your Thanksgiving dinner, make sure you park as far away from the grocery cart returns as possible because we've got high winds in our forecast for today.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the Lansing area (and beyond) until 9 pm tonight, Wednesday, November 27th. The Wind Advisory includes the counties of Barry; Calhoun; Clinton; Eaton; Ingham; Ionia; Jackson and Kent. Wind gusts could reach near 50 mph today and could cause some scattered power outages. Also, watch for fallen tree limbs.

If you have any travel plans to the southern area of Michigan, keep in mind that several counties in the southern part of Michigan are under a High Wind Warning until 9 pm tonight. The counties in the warning area include Berrien; Branch; Cass; Hillsdale and St. Joseph. The NWS says that power outages are expected in those counties.
