The debate over illegal immigration has been a hot button topic across the United States for years. It has picked up serious steam in Michigan in recent weeks with news of a facility to house immigrant children potentially opening up in Vassar, MI. Earlier this week, protesters filled the streets of that little town, armed with AK-47's to try to prove a point. Today, the protests were heard in Lansing, without the artillery. Steve Gruber, from our sister station 1240 WJIM-AM was front and center, and captured this video of the scene, and words from an anti-amnesty protester.

A story posted on mlive.com explores the angles of both sides of today's protests. The good news is no reports of incident or violence have been reported, though there have been four arrests as of 4:30PM. Protesters have now taken their shouting match to the State Capitol.
