The new Ingham County Animal Shelter, overwhelming approved by voters last week, can't come quickly enough for many homeless pets and the staffers that take care of them. WILX.com reports that Ingham County Animal Control has once again lowered its adoption fees due to overcrowding at its shelter.

Those with big enough hearts to adopt an adult cat won't be charged at all. Adoption fees for kittens six months and younger is $41 and for all dogs the fee is lowered to $51. The fees include most of the necessary medical precautions.

The WILX story also points out the need for foster families for some of these pets. There will be a foster orientation this Saturday, August 13 at 10:00am. For more information, visit the WILX story through this link, or call Ingham County Animal Control at 517-676-8370.
