The heat of summer in Michigan can be relentless. During the summertime we also have a lot of campfires and we light off fireworks. There are a lot of ways we can get burned during the summer in Michigan, how do you treat minor burns?
Sunburn can be a painful situation for some. I was the guy that didn't put on sunscreen because I wanted to get as dark as I could during the summer. I paid the price many times for being a moron and was rewarded with leather skin that peeled for days. My skin is in good shape now but I will be using some SPF.
As a kid I liked sparklers. I don't know of any kid that didn't have a sparkler burn out, then out of curiousity touced the burnt end of the sparkler. I can remember the burn and how it throbbed forever.
This weekend there will be a lot of sun and fireworks happening in Michigan as we celebrate our independence. Regardless of where you are celebrating be prepared for an emergency in case you, a friend or family member get burned. If a burn happens and it is severe, call 911 immediately. If you have a minor burn that needs some TLC try some of these home remedies from the healthy and my own experience.
