Are Michigan Subways Moving Away From Coke Products?
If you like washing down your favorite Subway sandwich with an ice-cold Coke, that might be changing.
Cola Wars - Coke vs Pepsi
Coca-Cola and Pepsi are no doubt the biggest in the world when comes to soda but the two share a rivalry that dates back to the late 1800s. The battle between these two cola companies is 135 years old.
Coca-Cola debuted in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1886 and has become a global giant in the soda industry and continues to grow.
Pepsi-Cola came onto the soda scene in North Carolina in 1889. You can say that is when the cola wars began between the two companies. The battlegrounds first started in the United States but have crossed the border and have become a cola world war.
For the most part, Coca-Cola has had the edge in the cola wars but Pepsi became more of a fierce competitor in the 1970s when they launched the "Pepsi Challenge" where they blindfolded people to do a taste test between Pepsi and Coke and this marketing idea was a massive success for Pepsi.

Coke didn't do themselves any favors by introducing "New Coke" in the mid-80s going straight at their direct customer base who were outraged and then eventually had to go back to the original recipe. This helped the war between Coke and Pepsi become a more even battlefield.
Cola Wars Most Recent Battleground is Subway
Coke has been the soda at Subway restaurants for nearly 20 years but in 2025, Pepsi products will replace Coke products. The change is not only in Michigan but will be nation wide.
Not only are Pepsi products going to be Subway's new drink choices, but according to Fortune, the contract with Pepsi subsidiary Frito-Lay will extend their current snack contract through 2030.
This round of the cola wars goes to Pepsi-Cola, but stay tuned because I'm sure Coca-Cola will retaliate.
