With shoreline on four of the five Great Lakes and more than 11,000 inland lakes, it’s safe to say we’ve got no shortage of beautiful beaches. But which one is the best in the state?

That’s what USA Today and 10Best set out to find.  A panel of experts chose 20 of the top beaches in Michigan, then it was put up to a public vote. And guess what? The No. 1 beach last year took the top spot again!

Michiganders already know this: from jaw-dropping sunsets and towering dunes to kayaking, paddle-boarding, and fishing, there’s a beach here to fit every vibe and every kind of summer fun. I'm more of a soak-up-the-sun and people-watch kind of beach-goer myself and tons on the list below are great for that, I know from experience.

Growing up in South Haven, I'm glad to see South Beach made the top ten, as did more of my favorite spots in Ludington and Saugatuck.
