Michigan Man Busted Breaking Into Girls Middle School Locker Rooms
Not sure why a 23-year-old man is hanging around a middle school in West Michigan but that has led to him facing felony charges.
Schools Not As Safe As They Used To Be
When I was growing up, elementary, middle, and high schools seemed like some of the safest places for kids other than their own homes.
When I was in school, kids would fight, and of course, there was bullying, but we didn't have to do drills to prepare for active shooter situations or worry about our classmates bringing guns to school,l but that was a different time.
Just this last weekend, my son told me that just before the end of 2023, they had to go into lockdown at his school. I guess the police were chasing a car that hit some vehicles at his school, and the two people inside went on the run, so the school went into lockdown mode. The men driving the car didn't enter the school but did get caught and arrested, thank goodness.
The sad part of the story was him telling me about kids that were crying. He said he had to calm and comfort one of his best friends who was terrified and told me it was scary. Even though nothing bad happened to the children it still affects them.
Man Allegedly Breaks Into West Michigan Middle School Women's Locker Rooms
Isn't anything sacred for kids anymore? It is a shame kids and schools have to worry about all the nonsense this world has to offer.
According to FOX 17, 23-year-old Jarrid Percy-Lahaie allegedly walked into a North Shores middle school after hours and entered the 7th and 8th grade women's locker room then shortly after entered the 6th grade women's locker room. Percy-Lahaie was spotted by a student which led to the police being called to the scene.
The Michigan State Police along with a K9 unit searched both locker rooms a couple of times to make sure there were no electronic devices. When the MSP arrested Percy-Lahaie they did find serval electronic devices. No images of students or staff were found on the devices. The police wound up arresting him on a bond violation and parole detainer and he remains in the Muskegon County jail.
