Michigan, Check Your Freezer! Massive Frozen Waffle Recall Expanded
A massive recall of frozen waffles sold at popular retailers in Michigan and nationwide due to potential Listeria contamination has been expanded.
The recall now includes pancakes and Belgian waffles.

This latest huge recall follows a recall of more than 11 million pounds of ready-to-eat meat products, also due to Listeria concern.
Treehouse Foods Recalls Waffles Due to Listeria Concerns
Treehouse Foods, located in Oak Brook., Ill., is recalling certain frozen waffle products due to potential Listeria Contamination.
The issue was discovered through testing at the manufacturing facility.
UPDATE 10/22: The company is expanding its voluntary recall to include all products manufactured at one facility and still within their shelf-life.
The recall is expanded to include frozen toaster waffle, Belgian waffle and pancake products, due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeriosis can be a serious and sometimes fatal infection in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
Although healthy people may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
What Waffles and Pancakes Are Being Recalled?
The recalled waffles and pancakes were distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada in various formats under different brand names.

The products were sold at Aldi, Walmart, Target, Dollar General, Publix, Food Lion, Giant Eagle, Hannaford, Harris Teeter, H-E-B, Price Chopper, Schnucks, Southeastern Grocers, and Tops.

Anyone who purchased the recalled items should throw them away or return them to the store.
To date, there have been no confirmed reports of illness linked to the recalled products.
