If you've found yourself in a similar situation or if you just are curious if you can get in trouble for hooking up in your car here's what the law says in Michigan.
Can You Get Locked Up For "Hooking Up" In Your Car?

What Happens If You Get Caught Hooking Up In Public?
If you are caught having sex in a public place, you can be charged with Gross Indecency, which is a felony charge that carries with it up to five years in prison.
This means that if your car is parked in a public place and you are caught having sex in it, you could potentially be charged with Gross Indecency.
What Is Considered A Public Place In Michigan?
The definition of a public place under Michigan law is a place where “a member of the public, who is in a place the public is generally invited or allowed to be at or could have been exposed to".
The law does not require that someone actually sees the sexual act, it only states that a person could have viewed the act.
So even if your car is parked in a secluded area, if it is a place where a member of the public could potentially see you, it could be considered a public place under the law.
Just to be safe and avoid any unwanted charges or jail time it might be best to get a hotel room or park the car in a garage and close the door.
