Don’t Forget The Snacks, This Is Michigan’s Longest Road Trip
Michigan roads can be pretty bad at times.
add into the mix constant construction and road closures it's easy to shake your head at the idea of taking a long road trip across our great state.
But if you're open to adventure and are willing to spend some money on gas and snacks then you should buckle up for some adventure.
I've been talking to my wife Lindsey about taking a road trip this summer to explore different spots in Michigan we've never been before.
One place we thought of was Pictured Rocks in Munising.
It looks so beautiful and you can't go wrong when you're spending your time in the water.
If we did the road trip from Grand Rapids to Munising it would be 360 miles long and take around five and a half hours to get there.
This trip to Pictured Rocks would be the longest road trip I've ever taken in Michigan which then got my wondering what is the longest possible road trip across Michigan.
I spent some time on google maps and this is what I came up with.
This Is Michigan's Longest Road Trip
If you were to start out in Michigan's south east side in the city of Erie and head north it would take you 630 miles and almost 10 hours to get there.
The average new vehicle can get up to 350 miles per fill up which means it would take almost two tanks off gas to get there and another two to get home.
Add in several stop for the bathroom and to stretch your legs and I'm guessing it would take us 11 hours.
Now before you buckle up and begin this long road trip across Michigan take a second to look at how cheap gas used to be.
