Michigan UPS Driver Ignored Road Barricade And This Is What Happened
I don't envy delivery drivers.
These men and women drive around nonstop to get our packages where they need to be just like a Jimmy John's driver delivering food freaky fast.
One UPS driver in Royal Oak must have been in a hell of a hurry because they didn't stop for anything, including freshly poured cement
According to WDIV 4 in Detroit, the freshly poured cement part of a road project in Royal Oak didn't last long.
The road work was part of a project to replace water mains under the road.
After that part was done the final step was to have fresh cement poured on the street and nearby sidewalks on the corner of East 6th and Knowles Street.
What The Heck happened?
This aerial view gives a great view of the damage done by the driver that ignored street closed signs
According to eyewitnesses the construction works had road closed signs up as well as orange barrels around the freshly poured cement and caution tape.
That along with yelling and screaming at the driver to stop didn't help.
Fred Meram of F.D.M Contacting whose in charge of this project shared some more details.
“From what I understand, the UPS driver got between the barrels, and he saw that the concrete was white and thought it was cured, and drove through it, As he got into the cement, the truck kind of sank down in there"
