Surprising: America’s Most Disliked Grocery Is Actually In Michigan!
I know that we all have our favorite grocery store we prefer shop. Selection, quality, customer service, and location all play a part in our decision, along with prices and a trust and confidence in our store. Hours are a big thing, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. or 24-hours a day, whatever. In Michigan, we are blessed to have a great choice, and many home grown.
The American Customer Satisfaction Index surveyed grocery customers around the country about their feeling about their store. After the pandemic we all have returned to in-store shopping in large part, so how satisfied are we?
There were 19 grocery stores in the survey and the stores coming out on top with a satisfaction rating of 85 were Costco, H-E-B and Publix. Sam's Club, Trader Joe's, Target and Aldi were also in the top ten.
Good news for us is that Meijer had a strong satisfaction rating of 80, coming in at number 11. If you scored below 79 and lower, you were considered below average.
That brings us to the most disliked and unsatisfying grocery store in America.
The dubious bottom of the list goes to..... Walmart! Their satisfaction level came in at 74.
The grading criteria included: Convenience of store hours, ease of pickup process,
quality of mobile, quality and freshness of meat and produce, layout and cleanliness of store, courtesy and helpfulness of staff, and so much more.
Our sister station, 101.5 The Banana, reported that there are 94 Walmart Groceries in Michigan. Landing at the bottom of the list shows they have a lot to work to do, if it matters, that is.
