It's horse power or bike power everywhere, no motorized vehicles. Of course there are a couple of fire trucks and maybe emergency vehicles, but that's pretty much it.

Mackinac Island is a beautiful place to visit and stay to really enjoy what it has to offer. The island was just ranked as the number one travel destination in the country, and for good reason.

One really cool one is Starry Starry Night at the Grand Hotel!

The Grand Hotel's Facebook page talked about Drew Butterfield, who they say, has done it again!

"Last fall Drew, Director of Grounds at Grand Hotel, designed the Starry Night Garden with inspiration from his favorite painting, Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night. This 200 Square foot garden consist of 8,000 hyacinth bulbs in hues of purple, white, and yellow."

That is amazing and I'm going to be on the island the first of July, so I'm checking it out for sure!

The Mackinac Island Ferry Company Star Line Facebook page features another Grand Hotel secret garden, the floral river winding through the gardens.
