Michigan State Survives Ohio State 66-60 in Big Ten Clash
The number 15, Michigan State, didn't have its flashiest afternoon at the Breslin, but they did what good teams have to do at this time of year, and that's finding a way to win.
MSU held off Ohio State 66-60 in a physical, hard-fought matchup that felt like a true late-season Big Ten battle. It wasn't just the style and points; it was toughness, execution, and protecting the home court.
First Half Defense Battle
The first half was tight and defensive on both ends. Ohio State came out strong and took a three-point lead into halftime, while Bruce Thornton carried a lot of their offense early. But instead of letting things spiral, Michigan State stayed composed and trusted their system.

The second half is where the Spartans really settled in.
Second Half Turnaround
Carson Cooper delivered a huge performance with 20 points and 11 rebounds, giving MSU a reliable inside presence when buckets were tough to come by. Jaxon Kohler was big on the glass as well, pulling down 10 rebounds, and Jeremy Fears Jr. helped control the tempo with 11 points and eight assists.
Jordan Scott chippedin 12 points in a game were every possession mattered.
Ohio State kept it close, but Michigan State made the key plays late, defended, rebounded and closed it out.
What’s Next for MSU
These are the kinds of wins that matter in February. Not always pretty, but absolutely important.
The Spartans now turn their attention to a tough road test at Purdue on Thursday night. And if this one showed us anything, it's that this team knows how to grind when it counts.
