The Jackson Library has had it's share of fun and adventure over the decades. The basement was home of Channel 10's “Tam's Fun Time” back in the 1960s. It was built in 1903 and opened that same year. It's a Michigan Historical Site as well as a National Historic Site.

Does anyone have any info about the Jackson District Library supposedly having paranormal activity? The building itself is a grand structure, opening in 1906 after a $50,000 grant by Andrew Carnegie in 1901.

However, I heard that some paranormal researchers investigated the library in 2007 and came away with definite conclusions that some kind of spirit was lingering in the building. They felt the presence of a little girl - possibly six or seven years old. Through their contact with her, they claim the little girl was killed in an automobile accident on West Michigan Avenue, and lingers inside the library – one of her favorite places.

The paranormal team sensed the presence of the little girl spirit in the aisle where the cooking & food books were kept. They all agreed there was a definite aroma of freshly baked cookies.

As with any ghost rumors, rumors, details, and facts change from too much re-telling. So does anyone have any stories of your own to hopefully shed a little more info on this? The Jackson District Library is located at 244 W. Michigan Avenue.
