These stores are built, staffed, and opened so fast it doesn't seem natural. What is their power? Why am I sucked in by its black-and-yellow siren song? And finally: Why are there ALWAYS racks of unpacked inventory blocking the aisles?
I think I may have found the answer! In one store's case, those rolling piles of unstocked inventory were perfect for funneling an unwanted visitor out of the Prospect Street location of a Jackson, Michigan Dollar General.
Connie MacGuinness happened to be in the store on that August day and managed to capture the video and shared the following on Facebook:
While shopping at the Dollar General on Prospect I turned around and saw this…I was stunned for a quick minute then got out my phone. Apparently the deer walked through the front doors as they slid open.Great job by the Jackson Police and Jackson County Animal Control. They made a barricade and escorted the deer out the back door.
So the next time you're in a Dollar General wondering why you can't reach the Hostess display because of some unstocked Bounty, remember that those carts are there as a barrier to place to yourself and a deer. And now you know.
