When getting 'out of state' during Michigan's winter months, I like to find a destination that offers everything our fine state doesn't between November and March.

  1. Sunlight
  2. Warm temperatures
  3. Non-life-threatening driving conditions

To my surprise, Thrillist's study of each state's favorite winter destination reveals that my fellow Michiganders are also looking for respite from clouds and windchill. It also seems that Mitten residents don't mind driving in hazardous conditions.

From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
