People in the state of Michigan are being urged to check their refrigerators, as a major recall is underway. I know what you're thinking, too... another one? This one is actually a bit more concerning, as a listeria outbreak is linked to the frozen meals.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has linked the recall to an ongoing listeriosis outbreak, which has caused 20 confirmed illnesses, hospitalized 19, and four fatalities.

The Concern in the Recall Now

Retailers have pulled these products from shelves now, but you could still have these products inside your freezers. The CDC is currently advising that anyone who has them dispose of them immediately, or return them to your place of purchase for a full refund.

Listeriosis symptoms can appear within two weeks of ingestion, though the onset time can range from the same day to up to ten weeks later.

States Impacted Right Now and What You Should Do

The recall is hitting here in the state of Michigan, as well as 15 other states, right now. Officials are stressing that even if a product appears normal, there is still a possibility of exposure.

Those experiencing fever, muscle aches, gastrointestinal distress, or other flu-like signs after consuming the recalled meals should seek medical attention, especially those who are pregnant, older adults, or people with a compromised immune system.
