A mult-state listeria outbreak has been linked back to this recall, so if you grabbed a Grab-n-Go case from the fridge, you should check out some of the information.

What Product is Involved

The Kroger brand of Basil Pesto Bowtie Pasta Salad as well as the Smoked Mozzarella Penne salad, have been included in the recall. The pesto bowtie salad was sold both at the deli counter as well as in the Grab-n-Go packs from September 6 through October 2, 2025.

The UPCs affected by the recall are:

The smoked mozzarella penne salad was also sold at deli counters and packaged from August 29, 2025, and was available in Michigan stores during that time.

Why is it Important?

The FDA made it clear, this recall is a part of an ongoing listeria outbreak, connected to pasta used in ready-to-eat products. Listeria isn't just an average stomach bug. Symptoms can include fever, headache, balance issues, confusion, and even seizures in some severe cases.

Listeria can be especially more dangerous for older adults, pregnant individuals, or those with a weakened immune system.

What You Should Do If You Have the Product

You should immediately throw the food away if you think you have the affected product, or return it to Kroger for a full refund. For extra precaution, you should clean any shelves, containers, or utensils that have touched the food to avoid cross-contamination. You can also call your doctor if you think you ate the affected products.
