I love learning about new happenings in Lansing, especially when I hear that they involve a couple of my favorite things; coffee and board games.

New Business in Downtown Lansing

I was looking through the Lansing subReddit when I saw a post about an upcoming board game cafe that's coming to the Downtown Lansing area, called The Board & Bean. I've looked at the subReddit and The Board & Bean's website, however, I have not seen an exact opening date just yet, only "soon".

What I do know is that they look forward to providing a fun environment for those to come and enjoy coffee, baked goods, and board games. And of course, good times.

For right now, they are looking for a little bit of help in setting up. They are hoping to source as many board games as possible locally, and they're asking that if anyone has any board games at home that are collecting dust and not seeing any playing time, that you donate them to the cause. Even if it's missing a few pieces, they'll take it off your hands!

If you'd like to donate any board games, you can take them to Middle Village Micro Market inside the Downtown Lansing office. And until it opens, if you'd like to check out their website and see what they're all about, just click here.

In the meantime, there's another cool place in Downtown Lansing to hang out, and that's the Lansing Shuffle inside the old Lansing City Market. The restaurant responsible for Faygo ice cream occupies that space, along with four other restaurants, two bars, and this summer, a shuffleboard area. Read more about it here.
