So many people love the sun and warmth way more than the winter and its brutal cold. And to be fair, there is so much to love about summers in Michigan. Things like swimming in our awesome lakes, going berry picking, sitting by the bonfire making s'mores, and much more.
But let's not forget about the downside of summers in Michigan.

DEET does next to nothing
I don't know what it is about mosquitoes in Michigan, but we must breed 'em differently out here, because they treat DEET like perfume.
There's sand EVERYWHERE
I swear... you go to the beach one time and you bring the whole thing with you home between your beach bag and your towels.
Ice cream vs. the weather vs. you

You are in a constant battle with the weather in trying to consume your ice cream cone before it melts all over you.
Weird Temperatures Swings
The day usually goes something like this; wake up and it's 60, by 2 pm it's 85, and maybe it cools down to 75 by 9 pm.
Don't forget to pack your sunscreen and umbrella
Michigan days can range from wet and dreary to start, and bright and blazing by the end. Don't forget your umbrella along with your sunscreen, or else you'll end up both wet and sunburned.
