After 34 Years, Beloved Holt Restaurant Delhi Cafe Has Closed
Sadly, it seems that the rumblings were true.
Delhi Cafe Family Restaurant in Holt has indeed closed its doors for the last time.
The rumblings began when someone posted about a recent meal at Delhi Cafe in the Lansing Foodies Facebook group. Terence D. said he enjoyed a meal there on October 14 when he was told about the closure. According to the post, the cafe's final day was going to be Friday, October 23.

Unfortunately, those rumblings were correct.
Delhi Cafe in Holt Confirms Its Closure
Delhi Cafe Family Restaurant confirmed the news on their Facebook page on Wednesday, October 21.
As many of you already know, our last day will be this Friday, October 23rd.This was a hard decision. We feel it is time. The Delhi Cafe opened 34 years ago, May 15, 1992. Our father, John and his good friend and business partner, Louie built, opened and operated the business for several years. Louie went on to retire. Our mother, Glykeria joined our father to continue owning and operating the Delhi along with their daughters.m
After the passing of Glykeria and John, we took over, and have since run it for 9 years. We are proud to have carried on our family’s legacy.As many of our longtime loyal customers know, there has been many ups and downs thru the years. Words cannot express how thankful we are to each and every one of you who come thru these doors and for always being there for us.
After more than 34 years in business, Delhi Cafe was more than a restaurant to so many. It was a second home and a gathering place. The outpouring of love from customers is palpable.
Could Delhi Cafe Return in the Future?
Hopefully, this is just goodbye for now. At the end of their message, owners made sure to let people know to "Keep a lookout for the next chapter. We will be around." Perhaps this means we'll see some version of Delhi Cafe in the future. For now, we say goodbye to this longtime favorite.
