Tragedy Strikes Again—Another East Lansing Eatery Is Closing For Good

When I hopped onto Facebook today and went to the Lansing Foodies group to see what sounded good for dinner, I did not think that I'd be met by such sad news.

Unfortunately, we have another restaurant closure coming our way, this time in East Lansing.

East Lansing Restaurant Closures

I'm sad to say that GoodFellas Bagel Deli will be closing its East Lansing location for good.

This news comes straight to us from the Owner and CEO of GoodFellas, Adrian Joseph.

Sadly, Adrian faced a battle with cancer last summer. He's since come out the other side a survivor. However, after struggles he faced, he came to the difficult decision to close the Downtown East Lansing location. Here's what he had to say in his post;

I'm so sad to see this place close. East Lansing and students are definitely losing an awesome late-night eatery.

GoodFellas Bagel Deli

We first learned that the East Lansing location would soon open in May of 2022. And it was October 2022 when the doors first opened. Now, just over a year later, we have to say goodbye.

Thankfully for Adrian, and our stomachs, the GoodFellas location inside the Capital City Market in Downtown Lansing will remain open and slinging out the delicious breakfast bagels and sandwiches.

Lansing and East Lansing Restaurant Closures

GoodFellas in East Lansing is joining other restaurants from the area in this recent rash of closures.

It was just in September 2023 that Black Cat Bistro closed their doors. And even earlier in 2023, East Lansing lost cafe and bakery, Pappa Roti.
