Winters in Michigan can be rough. That's why we've come up with plenty of indoor activities to keep up warm and cozy.

Winter Activities in Michigan

Sipping hot cocoa, baking cookies, playing board games, lighting a nice fire, and the list goes on...

But what about those Michiganders brave enough to face the cold and the snow and head outside for some fun? What kind of activities await them?

There's a brand new "ice" skating rink that just opened in Mid-Michigan. And I say "ice", because it's an artificial ice rink.

Grab your ice skates, head to Okemos, and get ready to lace up.

New, Artificial Ice Rink Now Open in Okemos

According to WILX News 10, the new rink is "located at Marketplace on the Green, which is behind the Meridian Mall." And one of the best aspects of the skating rink... it's free!

I know it can be hard to keep the kids entertained over the long winter break, especially without spending a bunch of money, so the fact that this is free is awesome! If you have your own skates, bring them. Otherwise, there will be some free skates available to use while you're there, but no word on how many or sizes.

If you'd like to go for a skate, it's going to be open all winter long. The rink is open from now until late March, and it's open everyday from dawn until approximately 9 pm.
