What the heck is happening with the supposed Mochinut that was allegedly "coming soon" to East Lansing?

If you've been paying attention to the greater Lansing restaurant scene, you know that 2025 has seen a ton of openings and plenty more soon to come. So, you might remember hearing rumblings of a Mochinut coming to East Lansing.

When Mochinut First Teased East Lansing

It was in August that we first heard word that this cafe would be coming to the area. And if you have an Instagram or Facebook, there's a chance that you might have seen them there. They used to post a lot about "coming soon". However, that's since stopped.

In fact, the ultimate crumb in this trail that's since gone cold seems to be that the Mochinut East Lansing Instagram page appears to be deleted. Additionally, if you look at the address that was meant to be the future location, there's no work being done to update the building to be the future space of Mochinut.

I've reached out to Mochinut at the time of writing this but haven't heard back yet. I will certainly update you if and when they reach out.

In the mean time, I'm just as sad about this as you are. I was excited to see a fun, new dessert and drink place come to the area. Especially something that isn't already being done in the greater Lansing area.

Mochinut’s Other Michigan Locations

In the meantime, there are some other Mochinut locations in Michigan if you want to take the trip to try it. Find it in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor, Rochester Hills, West Bloomfield, Livonia, Troy, and Shelby Township.
