When it comes to Lansing's restaurant scene, it is ever-changing, just like the tide. 2025 is definitely evidence of that, and we still have three months to go!

While 2025 has seen some restaurant closures, there's been roughly three openings for every closure. Plus, there are plenty more on the horizon for joining the greater Lansing area.

It's been three months since the last restaurant round-up; here's a look at what has opened and closed in the greater Lansing area in July, August, and September. And to make sure you're completely up to date with what's changed so far in 2025, see what opened and closed in the first six months of 2025.
Restaurants That Opened in Lansing, July–September 2025
Auntie Anne's/Cinnabon - Lansing
Opened on Jolly Road on July 21.
Bob's Big Boy - Lansing
After two years of waiting, this restaurant opened in south Lansing in mid-September.
Crown Grill - Lansing
Opened near Old Town in late July.
Dunkin - Delta Township
This opened inside a Tailgaters convenience store on July 10.
Grains Indian Cuisine - Lansing
This restaurant opened in the former Flap Jack in early August.
Great Harvest Bakery & Café - Downtown Lansing
This locally owned bakery and café took over the old Z!Eats location on Washington Square.
This restaurant took over the former Flap Jack and opened its doors on August 5.
Horrocks Farm Market Coffeehouse - Delta Township
This opened inside the coffee section of Horrocks in early July.

Nuts and Bolts Café & Bar - Aurelius Township
This café and bar opened inside Darrell's Market & Hardware. The grand opening was August 19.
The Willow Where Our Roots Began - Delta Township
This boutique café opened on July 2.
Restaurants That Closed in Lansing, July–September 2025
Papa John's Pizza - Lansing
This original Papa John's had served Lansing for 43 years before it closed in early September.
Spagnuolo's - Okemos
This Italian restaurant closed on July 2 after 34 years in business.
Starbucks - East Lansing
The very first Starbucks location in East Lansing closed its doors after 26 years.
Sweet Encounter Bakery* - Downtown Lansing
While the bakery is still open, and customers can place orders online, the bakery has stopped serving walk-in foot traffic. That change happened on August 2.
Tantay - Okemos
While temporarily closed throughout the summer, Tantay officially closed its doors permanently at the end of September.
Z!Eats (formerly Zoup!) - Downtown Lansing
This eatery closed abruptly in late July. Now, another local cafe and bakery has taken over that space.
