updated at 5pm on 4/15/25
A Lansing strip mall has reportedly been sold to new owners, and just days after current occupants were informed that their leases would not be renewed, there's apparently been a change of heart.
In a Facebook post, the owners of Little Red Schoolhouse Craft & Antique Mall at 5002 West Saginaw Highway in Lansing had told customers that while they were surprised by the initial notice, that they had no plans to close.
"Once we cried a little, we started looking for a new location," the post read. "We have narrowed it down to two on W. Saginaw - not far!"

Owners say after their initial post telling customers they'd eventually be moving this summer, they received a call from the strip mall's new owners offering to extend the Little Red Schoolhouse's lease.
Originally, owners of Little Red Schoolhouse - which has been in its current location since 1993 - had said they didn't know when they'll be moving to their new location, but expected the move to occur "this summer at some point". Now, they won't have to.
Why Was the Little Red Schoolhouse Craft & Antique Mall Going to Move?
According to the post on the Little Red Schoolhouse's Facebook page, the strip mall's owners had informed them that "they are planning to put in a kids' indoor playground," and that "they are going for the whole strip". The status of that plan remains unclear.
Is World Buffet in Lansing Closing?
The strip mall in Lansing where Little Red Schoolhouse Craft & Antique Mall is currently located also houses two other businesses - World Buffet, an all-you-can-eat restuarant featuring a variety of Chinese and American dishes; and GrowGeneration, a company that sells products for hydroponic and organic gardening.

Neither World Buffet nor GrowGeneration has publicly revealed whether they had also been informed that their current leases would not be renewed. No news is good news?
A timetable for the purported new kids' indoor playground taking over the strip mall has also not yet been made public.
