You Know You Live in Lansing When…
I've lived in Lansing for 15 years now. What I've learned during that time is that there's something different about Lansing than anywhere else in Michigan.
To be fair, you can say that about any place in the Mitten State.
But there are certain things that you'll only learn about yourself if you live in Lansing.
You Know You Live in Lansing When...
For instance, you know you live in Lansing when:
You have a favorite Meijer.
There's no getting around this one — you have a preferred Meijer, and if you tell me it's the Capital City Market one on Michigan Avenue near Downtown Lansing, I'll think you're lying.
You avoid going to Frandor unless you HAVE to.
Frandor is a logistical nightmare that only the brave or foolhardy venture into. Which one are you?
You also tend to avoid Downtown East Lansing unless you're going to the MSU game.
There are just soooo many students walking around not looking where they're going, it's easier to avoid that area all together.

You've watched someone drive the wrong way on a one-way street more than once.
This is such a regular occurrence on Saginaw and Grand River near 127, yet, I'm still always surprised when I see headlights coming straight toward me.
It smells vaguely of the Devil's Lettuce just about everywhere.
Is it a skunk? Or is it just someone enjoying Willie Nelson's favorite pastime?
