If you want to make it through some of the Mitten State's bleakest months, there are some tips you'll want to know.
1. An industrial strength scraper is going to be your best friend.
I'm not talking about those dinky scrapers that you can grab for $3. You need one with teeth, a squeegee, a brush, and a scraper. Bonus points if you get one that extends.
2. You might need to bring some extra warm layers.
Depending on the event you're going to, it may be best to travel in warm clothes and winter boots and change into your proper attire when you arrive. No need getting your nice clothes all covered in snow and salt.
3. Meijer is going to be super busy before a big snow storm.
If you go to Meijer before a big snow storm and complain that the lines are long and there's a lot of people there... read the room my dude.
4. Road salt is a necessary evil.
It's all over our roads, sidewalks, and porches. And it inevitably ends up messing with our cars and getting tracked into the house. Car washes are a must.
5. Always check the "real feel" temperature.
Sure, the temperature may read 29 degrees, but that wind chill is making it feel like 4.
