Here are seven great festivals to check out around Lansing this August.
JazzFest Michigan
A Lansing tradition for more than three decades, JazzFest Michigan features top-tier jazz talent, local artists, and lots of fun for the whole family.
The event features multiple outdoor stages, food trucks, and artisan vendors creating a welcoming atmosphere for all ages. The kickoff concert is free, and other performances offer affordable ticketed options.
St. Johns Mint Festival
Held in Michigan's "Mint Capital", the St. Johns Mint Festival honors the region's mint farming roots with three days of parades, live entertainment, flea markets, crafts, food, and carnival rides.
It's a hometown favorite and an easy trip north of Lansing for a day filled with plenty of small-town charm. The festival celebrates its 40th year in 2025.
Dewitt Ox Roast
Live music? Check. Car shows? Check. Slow-roasted beef? Yeah, that too. The Dewitt Ox Roast also features a parade and craft booths, among other attractions.
From amusement rides to tasty food tents, it makes for a perfect weekend for families or anyone wanting that old-fashioned festival feel.
ArtFeast
ArtFeast is a one-day summer street fair that blends arts, food and family fun in Lansing's charming Old Town.
Dozens of local artists and crafters line Turner Street along with food trucks and live entertainment.

A Festival of Oddities
This one's, well, odd. The Courthouse Museum in Charlotte is the backdrop for A Festival of Oddities, held the Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day Weekend.
This quirky celebration features oddball vendors, paranormal investigators, authors, sideshow acts and more. It's ideal for horror fans and lovers of the macabre. Kind of a creepy carnival, if you will.
