How are the best singles cities in Michigan determined? According to Home Snacks, the list was confirmed by looking at American Community Survey Census data for every city in the Great Lakes State.

Additional factors include,

  • Percentage of the population that's male vs. female (closer to a 50-50 ratio is better)
  • Percentage of households with kids
  • Median age
  • Number of unmarried people in each city

From that information, every city received a score. If you want to get into the technicalities of it all, you can find additional information here. As far as I am concerned Home Snacks professionals did the hard work, I am just sharing the results.

Spoiler alert - if you are single and live in Genesee County or Lapeer County, your city did not make the list. Most of the cities that did make the list are not too far away from those counties. The furthest drive for Michigan singles would be to the city coming in at number seven on the list - Marquette.
