Few businesses inspire as much excitement as a soon-to-be built Detroit Area gas station with a reputation for amazing food.

In fact, if you took away the gas station portion of Sheetz, people would still flock for the fresh-made menu because it's that good.

Does Sheetz have locations in Michigan?

To date, Sheetz has never opened a location in Michigan. That said, they keep expanding westward and our time has finally come.

The Freep reports Sheetz has plans to build at 33380 Wick Road in Romulus. That's about four miles from Detroit Metro Airport. Kind of handy when you're going to catch a flight and want to skip insane airport restaurant prices. Not that the price of gas won't be insane -- that still applies to Sheetz, too.

Sheetz Freaks

The biggest fans of Sheetz call themselves... Sheetz Freaks. (If you search for a group under that name on Facebook, beware you could land in an "adult entertainment" spot you had no intention of finding.)

Fans create pages to celebrate and communicate their love for the brand often associated with their favorite location and its store number. That's dedication.

The Altoon, PA based company is also known to have a sense of humor, like this:

Please feel free to speak Harry Potter to us all day but find a spell or potion to fix the damn price of gas and we'll love you more.

More Sheetz coming to Michigan

The company does plan to open more stores in Michigan but has not announced when or where, yet. Romulus' opening date will be announced later.

Now, let's see if we can get WaWa in the Mitten State.
