Voting is underway to find USA Today's 10Best Wine Country Hotels and this year, not one, but two of Michigan's finest are in the running to make the list. A panel of experts has narrowed it down to 20 hotels and inns that "provide a perfect place to relax over a glass of wine after a day of touring and tasting in wine regions around the country". Now, it's up to USA Today's readers to pick the very best.
USA Today's Best Wine Country Nominees in Michigan
Hoping to make the 10Best Wine Country Hotel in America list for this year are:
"Chateau Chantal, located just north of Traverse City, Michigan, combines a vineyard and winery with luxurious B&B lodging. All suites and rooms have exceptional views of vineyards or Grand Traverse Bay, many with private patios or balconies, and several that offer wet bars and whirlpool tubs. The inn’s amenities include fireplaces and sitting areas, plus an exceptional breakfast", USA Today wrote about the popular Traverse City inn.
"The Inn at Black Star Farms puts guests in the heart of the Traverse Wine Coast, with easy access to wineries and tasting rooms on the Old Mission and Leelanau wine trails. Each stay includes a daily breakfast, nightly hospitality hour with wine and small bites, a bottle of house wine, and an exclusive barrel room tasting", the bio commented on the Suttons Bay gem.
It's pretty impressive to have 2 Michigan hotels up for consideration considering the company they're keeping. Of the twenty in the running, 15 are located in California. Although Cali is usually the first to come to mind when it comes to wine country, Michigan is holding its own and making a name.
