If you've got frozen waffles stashed in your freezer, it's time to check them now! That easy-to-go, grab-in-a-flash breakfast staple could make you sick.

More than 600 varieties of frozen waffles, manufactured by TreeHouse Foods and sold under major store brands like Walmart's Great Value and Target's Good & Gather, have been recalled due to potential listeria contamination.

TreeHouse Foods released a press statement regarding the voluntary recall of the waffles across the country including in Michigan. The company stated the issue of possible contamination was discovered through routine testing at the manufacturing facility.

The recalled waffles were sold at major retailers across the U.S. and Canada. Some of those well-known retailers were;

  • Kroger
  • Dollar General
  • Publix
  • Stop & Shop
  • Target
  • Walmart
  • H-E-B

What Brands Are Part of the Waffle Recall?

The tricky thing about this particular recall is that so many major store brands are involved stemming from one supplier. According to the company, these are the brands included;

  • Bettergoods
  • Breakfast Best
  • Compliments
  • Clover Valley
  • Essentials
  • Food Lion
  • Foodhold
  • Giant Eagle
  • Good & Gather
  • Great Value
  • Hannaford
  • Harris Teeter
  • H-E-B Higher Harvest
  • Kodiak Cakes
  • No Name
  • Pics By Price Chopper
  • Publix
  • Schnucks
  • Se Grocers

Tree House advises anyone who has the named waffles to check the UPC on the back of the carton, and the Lot Code and Best By Date for these products on the end of the carton. You can see the full list of products and UPCs here. Photos of the affected products can also be found here.

If you have any of the products, TreeHouse Foods advises you to dispose of them or return the recalled product to the place of purchase for credit. If you have any questions you can contact the company at 800-596-2903, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (CST).

The company noted that at this time there have been no illnesses reported in connection to the recalled waffles.
