What is daylight saving time? Honestly, good question!

Daylight saving time is between March and November when most Americans will be adjusting their clocks ahead by an hour.

We gain an hour in November so we can get more sunlight during the winter mornings. However, in March, we "spring forward" to get more daylight in the evening time.

Many people do not see the point in daylight saving time.

For the last couple of years, Congress has tried to call for the stop of daylight savings time.

The U.S. Senate unanimously approved the Sunshine Protection Act in 2022. That bill makes daylight saving time permanent. However, it did not pass in the U.S. House of Representatives. It was also not signed by President Joe Biden either.

Hopefully, this will not ruin your Halloween and Trick-or-Treat plans.

Surprisingly, it will not be dark on October 31st when your little ones take to the streets for the sugar rush holiday.

Michiganders and other United States residents will be moving the clocks back on November 3rd.

As long as the current legislation continues with no changes, Michigan and the rest of the country will be setting our clocks back an hour at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024.

We will be set there until move time forward on March 9th, 2025.
