Yelp Ranks The Best Pizza In The Midwest And Michigan Makes The Cut

When pizza is good, you can not cheat by going to another pizza spot.

There are a bunch of great pizza locations throughout the Midwest.

However, Yelp says that they know the best of the best.

#1 Out of 100 Pizza Spots in the Midwest

Yelp's data team used the businesses' ratings and review volume to compile a list of the top 100 pizza spots across the Midwest.

While you may think Chicago would have taken the top spot, you would be incorrect.

According to Yelp, the top pizza spot in the Midwest is Loui's Pizza in Hazel Park, Michigan!

Located in the Metro Detroit area, Loui's Pizza has been a pillar of the Hazel Park community since 1977.

The current owner, Nikolas Sulkiwskyj, the grandson of Loui's Pizza's founder, Louis Tourtois, states that he is "building on my grandfather's legacy."

Nyk tells Yelp that they are still doing everything the way his grandfather did before him.

"We still make pizzas just like he did - with caramelized cheese walls around the outside, (using) Wisconsin brick cheese, which has a high butterfat content."
