Though this Thanksgiving is sure to be a different one, spirits are still high in Jackson!

It's no secret this has been a hard year on everyone, financially included. That's why 20 Past 4, a marijuana retail space in Jackson, wanted to help out.

Starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25th, MLive reports that 20 Past 4 started handing out 100 uncooked turkeys on a first-come-first-serve basis.as a way to help families in need.

Now, I have to argue that this would be an incredible marketing opportunity, especially for a provisioning center! Sell a substance that stereotypically makes one hungry, get a free turkey!

However, 20 Past 4 was just doing it out of the goodness of their hearts to help not only their customers but their community, as owner Tony Ali illustrated to MLive.

“We are who we are because of the community and their support," Ali said. "The last ten months we have all been confronted with unforeseen difficulties that we are all living through COVID-19 and the pandemic. We feel people may need help during the holiday season.”

They didn't just stop there, though, they also were accepting Toys For Tots donations and were redistributing monetary donations to families in need.

It just goes to show that even in tough times like what many of us have found ourselves in here in 2020, the holidays are still a great way to do good for people.

Thanksgiving always reminds us to be thankful for the things and the people in our lives and make sure to pay it forward which is exactly what businesses like 20 Past 4 are doing.
