Heads up - literally. If you're driving near Jackson tomorrow, January 17th, you might want to keep your eyes on the road, not your phone. Might be a good idea for all the days after tomorrow, too.

Michigan State Police will have extra patrols from the Jackson post working undercover to watch for drivers with their faces buried in their phones.

Distracted driving deaths in Michigan doubled from 2014 to 2015. MLive.com reports that, "28 people died in such incidents...a cell phone was involved in 753 crashes, with three fatalities and 251 injuries."
