The Ingham County Road Department released details Tuesday on its plans to resume construction at the Jolly Road and Okemos Road interchange.

Commuters are already dealing with a Jolly Road detour between Hagadorn Road and Meridian Road as crews continue to replace culverts and widen shoulders between Dobie Road and Meridian Road.

Next week, work resumes at the busy intersection, too. Crews will be working to replace storm drains and widen both Okemos and Jolly Roads, adding right turn lanes. During this project, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction on both roads, creating quite the bottleneck. In anticipation of this congestion, Michigan Department of Transportation crews have placed a traffic signal at the Westbound I-96 interchange to Okemos Road (north side of the viaduct).

Both of the Jolly Road projects are slated for completion around Labor Day 2018.
