Get The Arm Ready! Go To A Lansing Area Indoor Baseball Facility
I am stoked about the upcoming Detroit Tigers, Chicago Cubs and Lansing Lugnuts 2023 seasons. Yeah, I am a die-hard Cubs fan, don't hate. I am all about the Tigers in the American League.
Another thing I get excited about is youth baseball. Youth baseball is where the love for the game starts. I coach U10 baseball and my motto is this, have enough fun while learning skills and technique that the young players ARE EXCITED to come back and play again tomorrow. Afterall, isn't life about having fun. Who knows, maybe the kids will have so much fun that they will want to make it a dream to become a MLB player. If not, that's ok, we're still having a blast and these kids will talk about it when they are grown up, like I do relive my youth baseball days.
One of my friends is MSU Baseball head coach Jake Boss. I asked him recently what is the ONE thing that the kids should focus on the most. Coach Boss' response was:
Throwing. Throw. Throw. Throw. Get their arms in shape and work on their technique with throwing. Throwing, throwing, throwing.
I knew the answer to this question. The best thing you can do with your kids is toss the ball. It's hard to do that in Michigan during the winter months. Getting some swings in is good too. Always work on technique, fundamental and have fun. Thankfully there are indoor baseball facilities in the Lansing area.
5 Lansing Area Indoor Baseball Facilities
D-BAT Mid-Michigan - 5849 Enterprise Dr, Lansing, MI 48911
Tim Ball:
Fun facility. It has the amenities that we need to get drills in (no real space to do pop ups). The rental rates are reasonable. For our Tuesday practices, the lanes were all booked, so teams are using the facility. The staff members are easy to deal with. Glad to have this facility within driving distance for our team.
Capital City Baseball Kingdom - 2000 Gary Ave, Lansing, MI 48906
Me (Mojo):
This facility has tons of room. The staff is great. Great venue to work on the arm and get some swings in.
Dagda Baseball - 1800 W Grand River Ave, Okemos, MI 48864
Jeremy Rankin:
Great place to teach the mechanics and fundamentals that every future prospect needs to know! Very happy with the staff and experience we had! Thank you!
Michigan Sports Academy - 1260 E Grand River Ave, Howell, MI 48843
Bill Lundy:
Great Batting cage for practice. Owner is a great and knowledgeable person to work with.
Hit and Pitch - 219 S Washington St, Owosso, MI 48867
Matt S:
Very cool place for baseball and softball enthusiasts. They offer one on one training sessions for hitting, pitching, catching and just about all other positions. All the instructors have played pro, minor or college ball. They also have camps and hitting leagues. I would recommend thus place if your looking to get an edge and improve your game.
