The Michigan Department of Transportation has released its 2018 Construction Map, full of details about the major construction projects coming this summer to state freeways, highways, and trunk lines.

Four projects will affect traffic this summer in the immediate Lansing Area. Downtown, the Michigan Avenue bridge over the Grand River will be rebuilt this summer, forcing detours in each direction (one direction at a time) starting in June. US-127 will have median barriers installed and guardrails upgraded between I-496 and the Ingham/Clinton County Line, also starting in June. Saginaw Street will have a much needed resurfacing project beginning in May between Coolidge and Hagadorn Roads. Old US-27 will also be resurfaced between Clark Road and Northcrest Drive beginning in June.

There is also going to be a resurfacing project on I-96 again this summer between M-52 and M-59. For a full list of statewide projects, and details about the projects this season locally, visit this link to MDOT's website.
