Last Saturday evening I went to visit a friend and grab dinner at the Lansing Brewing Company. He had just moved into the new Block 600 apartments with Capital City Market attached. So I figured I'd get to check it all out and grab a bite before the grand opening (today actually, October 14th).

I decided to park on the street as parking in any lot downtown is like playing Russian Roulette with your car. Not going to risk a crazy ticket or worse getting towed.

So I parked in front of Cooley...uh...Jackson Field. Home of the Lugnuts. And to my surprise, the ball park was open. And something was going on inside. Frozen to be specific. I could hear Idina Menzel belting out "Let It Go" as if on cue as I'm walking by. I looked in and on the giant scoreboard they were indeed showing Elsa and friends. You could hear the movie soundtrack belting out over the stadium speakers.

I know during the summer (and for a handful of special events) they were showing movies at the park, but since it was fall I thought it was done. Nope. As a matter of fact, it's officially "Spooky Szn" with your Lansing Lugnuts and Movies at the Ballpark.

You can watch the movies from the stands or on the field.

Ticket info is here. Best to get them in advance so you won't be shut out in case of a sell out.

More movies are slated after the 18th including Field of Dreams, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Halloweentown. Ticket info is here.

We've got one more baseball game and it's The Lemonade League Fall Classic. There's a free bobblehead giveaway for the first 500 fans.

The Lugnuts Prospect Camp is coming on Sunday, October 25th!

So we've got a little baseball and a lot of movies left with your Lansing Lugnuts at Jackson Field this Fall. Enjoy.
