The City of Lansing Parks & Recreation Department is looking for part-time Sports Officials to umpire, referee, and score keep various recreational programs within the community.  If you have a passion for sports (youth or adult), this is a great opportunity to learn more about sports and get paid for your passion!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•Officiating or score keeping for various recreation sport programs (baseball, softball, soccer, football, floor hockey, etc.)
•Gaining greater knowledge of sports with regard to rules, scoring, equipment needs, and playing field
•Cultivating teamwork and sportsmanship between participants, coaches, and the community

Successful candidates will be at least 14 years of age. 

 Sport Official experience is preferred but not required.

And the details of the Summer Camp Activity Leader:

The City of Lansing Parks & Recreation Department is seeking Summer Camp Activity Leaders to assist with the guidance and development of youth who participate in the City of Lansing’s 8-week summer camp program.  These leadership-driven positions provide an excellent chance for you to ignite creative learning to young people in the community between the ages of 5 and 17 years old. This environment is a perfect fit for individuals who love to have fun while they work and live to motivate groups with positivity and high energy.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist in the development of camp curriculum
• Supervise, provide instruction and teach diverse activities to youth
• Lead discussions with small groups

Ideal candidates will possess:

• Must be at least 18 years of age by June 1, 2019 in order to be eligible for consideration.
• Previous experience communicating and interacting with youth individually and in a group setting preferred
• Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate their experience and proficiency in oral and written communication.
