The Detroit Lions announced on Tuesday that General Manager Bob Quinn and Head Coach Matt Patricia (pictured) will return to the team in 2020.

Both Quinn and Patricia have three years remaining on the original five-year contracts that they signed two years ago.

However team owner Martha Ford said during Tuesday press conference that "“We expect to be a playoff contender, that means playing meaningful games in December."  The Lions are 9-20-1 in the nearly two full seasons that Quinn and Patricia have been in charge.

The 3-10-1 Lions are at the Denver Broncos next Sunday.  The Lions are projected to have a top five pick in next spring's NFL Draft.
