The Game 730 AM has obtained an audio teaser trailer for the upcoming season of the popular NFL program "Hard Knocks," which this year features the Detroit Lions.
In March, the NFL and HBO announced "Hard Knocks" will be embedded with the Lions for the first time. The program, now in its 17th season, airs five weekly episodes, beginning Tuesday, Aug. 9. at 10 p.m. ET. It covers an NFL team's entire training camp, including its three preseason games.
Many across the media were excited to hear "Hard Knocks" will feature the Lions, given the eccentric character of head coach Dan Campbell. Others, like Lions running back Jamaal Williams, were less enthused.
Campbell has appeared on "Hard Knocks" before, when he was an assistant coach for the Miami Dolphins in 2012. Lions quarterback Jared Goff will make his third appearance on the program — he was featured during the show's 2016 and 2020 seasons as a member of the Los Angeles Rams.
The fifth and final episode of "Hard Knocks" airs Tuesday, Sept. 6, just two days before the NFL season officially kicks off.
"We are excited about the opportunity to showcase the City of Detroit and the amazing culture we are building at the Lions," Lions president and CEO Rod Wood said in a press release. "HBO Sports and NFL Films are the best of the best and we know they will be excellent partners in sharing our story with football fans around the world."

HBO Sports and NFL Films are partnering with the Detroit Lions for an unfiltered all-access look at what it takes to make it in the National Football League with HARD KNOCKS: TRAINING CAMP WITH THE DETROIT LIONS. The five-episode season debuts Tuesday, August 9 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET) with additional hour-long episodes debuting subsequent Tuesdays at the same time, culminating in the September 6 season finale. The first sports-based reality series, and one of the fastest-turnaround programs on TV, will debut on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max.
HARD KNOCKS: TRAINING CAMP WITH THE DETROIT LIONS will mark the 17th edition of the 18-time Sports Emmy®-winning series and the most acclaimed serialized sports series on television. HBO has aired 82 memorable episodes and one anniversary special in its first 16 seasons.
(Disclaimer: The audio teaser trailer embedded within this article is obviously a parody. But, with characters like Campbell involved, it's not unrealistic to think the actual program will be even sillier.)
