Lugnuts This Week & Cinco De Mayo This Weekend Downtown
A big week for your Lansing Lugnuts. $2 Taco Tuesday, bring your pooch to the park with Dog Days of Summer on Wednesday, Thirsty Thursday (It's Always Sunny in Lansing this week), and finally Copa de la Diversion (Cinco De Mayo on Sunday) with fun festivities all weekend long. Plus, this weekend only, your Lugnuts become The Lansing Locos.
In 1996, the Lugnuts burst onto the scene in Lansing, becoming one of the first crazy names in Minor League Baseball and spurring fans to cheer, "Let's Go Nuts!" Now we're expanding that mentality as we introduce the Lansing Locos in 2019!
"Let's Go Nuts" roughly translates to "Vamos Locos," and that will be the Lansing Locos' rallying cry.
For our logo, we partnered with our Copa de la Diversión focus group to develop an identity that made people laugh and elicited a fun, emotional response. Enter the Potoo bird, an indigenous bird to Central and South America that is the definition of a Loco creature and even has the same large eyes as Luggie from the Lugnuts' logo. ¡Vamos Locos! (Lansing Lugnuts)
