Man Who Stole from Disabled Girl Scout Arrested

According to an article at lsj.com, a 49-year-old Ionia man has been identified as the one who stole a cash box from a disabled Girl Scout selling cookies in South Lansing. Thomas C. Hawkins was arrested in a separate incident in Eaton County on Monday after a purse snatching at a Meijer store. Lansing officials say Dawkins is the same man who pulled the dastardly deed at the KMart store on Cedar Street last weekend. Dawkins is being held on a $250,000 bond.

The article also states that funds have been raised for the Girl Scout by a number of city workers and Lansing School District personnel. So far, over $1100 dollars has been raised to help offset the girl's losses. Click this link for information on how to help out.
