The first question Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio fielded at his weekly press conference Tuesday was about the now vacant head coaching position at South Carolina.

And he was having none of it.

"First question?" he said. "Coach Spurrier's had an outstanding career there, it's my alma mater, and we're here to talk about Michigan."

Dantonio played at South Carolina from 1976 to 1978. The question was asked in light of Spurrier's sudden retirement on Tuesday.
